John E. Bennett

John E. Bennett, 92, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord at 6:50 pm on Monday, March 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on February 23, 1929 in Ross County to the late Claris E. and Evelyn (Easter) Bennett.  John is survived by his loving wife Betty (Stevens) Bennett, whom he married on June 25, 1950 in the Yellowbud United Methodist Church.

Also surviving are his son Dan (Debbie) Bennett, daughter Bonnie (Joe) King, son-in-law Nathan Park, grandchildren Heath (Angela) Bennett, Heather (Mike) Schultz, Ty (Julie) Park, Marty (Leah) Park, Bret (Grace) King, Jamie (Kristen) King, Kimberly (Blake) Lloyd, great-grandchildren Caleb (Paige) Bennett, Isaac and Peyton Bennett, Jordyn and Riley Schultz, Evan and Allison Park, Neilson, Tye Lynn, Asa, Forrest and Strider Park, Carly, Claire, and Catie King, Kailen, Eliana, and Matias King, Adeline, Oliver, and Eva Lloyd, great-great grandchildren Paislee and Colt Bennett, a sister Jean (Bennett) Clark and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Debra Sue (Bennett) Park, a great granddaughter Alice Louise Lloyd, a brother and sister-in-law Edward (Pat) Bennett, sister Ruth Thompson and brother-in-law Kenneth Clark.

John graduated from Kingston High School in 1947 and was a member of the basketball team.   He spent several years coaching little league baseball and was one of the founders of Mary Lou Patton Park.  He worked at the Mead Corporation for 9 years before working as a maintenance supervisor at the Chillicothe and Adena Hospitals  for over 30 years.   He was a carpenter and built and remodeled homes and enjoyed just helping anyone he could.  His greatest enjoyment in life was his family whom he dearly loved.  He prayed for each and every one by name daily.  His legacy will definitely live on through his family.

His funeral service will be held  on Saturday, March 6th at 12:00 pm at Freedom Ministries Church in Frankfort, Ohio under the direction of Hill Funeral Home of Kingston, Ohio with his son, Pastor Dan Bennett and grandson Jamie King officiating. The service will be live streamed at the following link: https://m.facebook.com/freedomministriesfrankfort/. Calling hours will be held at 10:00 am prior to the service at Freedom Ministries Church.  Graveside services will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston, Ohio.
