Janice S. (Snyder) Wiseman
Janice S. (Snyder) Wiseman, 89, of Circleville, entered into Heaven on April 28, 2024 at Brown Memorial Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born July 9, 1934, in Laurel City, West Virginia, to the late Everett K. and Stachie Faye (Jeffrey) Snyder.
In 1953, she married the love of her life, the late Willard R. "Pete" Wiseman, and the two were blessed with 60 years together. Janice spoke often of the fact that they only had $20 to their name when they were married and with hard work, dedication, and God's help were able to raise a family and quietly help countless others in need over the years. Pete's brother, James, married Janice's sister, Patricia, and the two couples and their children shared a very special lifelong bond as a result.
A loving mother and grandmother to many, Janice is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Dennis) Shaw, of Circleville; four grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Wiseman, of Kingston, Jennifer (Barry) Petty, of Circleville, Josh Shaw, of Williamsburg, and Justin (Ashley) Wiseman, of Adelphi; eight great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Bret Petty, Savannah and Micah Shaw, Leah and Abigail Wiseman, and Madelyn and Ella Mae Wiseman; daughter-in-law, Lois Wiseman; sister, Patricia (Roy) Stone; sister-in-law, E. Marie Bostic; numerous special nieces and nephews from West Virginia; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by her son, Ralph Wiseman; siblings, Curtis Snyder and Mary Deck; brother-in-law, James C. Wiseman; nephew, James B. Wiseman; and niece, Gail (Deck) Cochran.
In 1951, Janice graduated at the age of 16 from Duvall High School in Lincoln County, West Virginia. Janice worked at Gunnoe's Grocery Store as a teenager and worked at Jim's Pay and Save for many years after her children were grown. Janice was a wonderful cook and she made sure no one ever went hungry in her presence. While Pete and Janice were hard workers, they always made time for family beach vacations that always included the other Wiseman family and other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank Lisa Jarvis and her Ohio Health Hospice care team and numerous home healthcare workers for the extraordinary care given to Janice during her illness.
Funeral Services will be Friday, May 3, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler Ludwig Cemetery, Circleville. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Hill's.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Janice's honor to Ohio Health Hospice and Logan Elm Local Schools (9579 Tarlton Road, Circleville, OH 43113). Condolences and floral gifts can be made on Janice's online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com.
