Jane E. (Braddock) Graves

Jane E. (Braddock) Graves, 84, of Kingston, died October 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 12, 1940, in Vineland, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Melvin and Evelyn (Middleton) Braddock.

Jane is survived by her beloved children, Jeff (Kelly) Braddock, of New Jersey, Gayle (Robert) Dunphy, of Georgia, Gwen (John) Winn, of Florida, Gretchen (Doug) Jones, of Grove City, Gabrielle Leonard, of Chillicothe, Glenda Collins, of Pennsylvania, Gary (Jana) Slater, of Florida, Grace (Bret) King, of Kingston, and Greta (Tyler Stillings) Slater, of Pennsylvania, Judy Lowery, of North Carolina, Marsha Driscoll, of Idaho, and Chris Hrenda, of Tennessee. She had numerous children and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Jerry Slater; husband, Harold Graves; children, Joy Garber, Sharon Fortner, Jane Homer, and Lorri Miller; two grandchildren; brother, James Braddock; and special sister-in-law, Jinny Slater.

Jane was a member of the last graduating class of Pemberton Borough High School, New Jersey. She started her career as a civilian secretary in the Airman's Department for the Department of Defense before marrying and starting her most important career of raising her children and homemaking. She was a master gardener, seamstress, and amazing cook. After moving to Ohio, she enjoyed over 25 years of farm life selling plants, produce, eggs, cheese and sweet treats. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Pemberton, New Jersey from 1963-1980, then locally Tyler United Methodist Church for many years and then attended Salem Church for the past seven years where she found a wonderful church family and made several special friends. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. David Sayre officiating.
