Obituary

James Eugene Seymour

James Eugene Seymour, 66, of Laurelville, passed away unexpectedly on February 11, 2026 at home. He was born on July 23, 1959, in Joliet, Illinois, the son of the late Eugene Seymour and Norma Jean (Hart) Seymour, who survives. On November 15, 1999, he united in marriage with his beloved wife, Roseann (Storcz) Seymour, who survives. James is also survived by his children, Cheryl (Eric) Massie, Mark (Lynette) Allen, and Jason Allen; five grandchildren; sister, Julie (Jay) Mahaffey; nephew, Ben Mahaffey; special cousin, Kenny; and numerous other family members and friends whom he cherished.

James was a 1977 graduate of Plainfield High School. James worked for Ryder Trucking as a logistics inventory specialist. James was proud of his work, very good at what he did, and coworkers looked to him for advice. James "always had the answers," according to his manager. James was loved and respected in his career.

James had a strong passion for music, which included both rock and country genres. He was proud of his large music CD collection and loved to share music with others, especially his favorite band Falling in Reverse. James also enjoyed reading books, playing disc golf in the earlier days and absolutey loved his furry companions.

He will be deeply missed.
