James Edward Jenkins

James Jenkins, 75, of Hallsville, went to be with the Lord Oct.18, 2014 at the Adena Medical Center.  He was born March 23, 1939, in Cynthiana, Ohio, the son of the late Walter and Bertha Purdue Jenkins.  James was also predeceased by his wife, Yvonne Jane Chester Jenkins; sister, Mary Weaver; brother, Paul, and son-in-law, Raymond Montgomery.

Surviving are his children, Terry (Nedra) Jenkins, Melissa (Ralph) Skaggs, Ginger Jenkins, and Pam Doles; brothers, Russell, Ernie, Donald, Jack, John, Robert, Theodore, and Joe; sisters, Rosie Landrum, Grace Bennett, and Clara Hoey; grandchildren, Amber Engel, Matthew Hill, Raymond Jenkins, and Destiny Doles; great grandson, William Engel.

He retired from Mannapro of Circleville in 1993. James was a founding member of the Colerain Twp Vol. Fire Dept and Rescue, being an advisor for the Explorer Post # 190. He loved all his explorers as his own children.  He loved his life as a fireman and all he service for his community.

Funeral services will be Thursday 11 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastors Howard and Leasure officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hallsville Cemetery.  Friends may call at Hills Tuesday 2 to 8 and Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
