Ira Eugene "Gene" Patrick

Ira Eugene "Gene" Patrick, 85, of Circleville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 13, 2018 while surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was born on April 12, 1933 near Kingston, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cleo (Dresbach) Patrick and father, Pearl Patrick of Kingston; brother, Dane (Violet) Patrick and their son, Jerry, and infant brother, Orville Patrick. He was married to Joanne (Arledge) Patrick on May 24, 1952 in Liberty, IN. Gene is survived by his wife, Joanne (Arledge) Patrick; Son, Daniel (Chris) Patrick, daughter, Rebecca (Tom) Davis, son, Michael (Donna) Patrick; grandchildren, Natalie (Steve) Timmons, Adam (Becca) Davis, Jonathan (Kristen) Davis, Erin Davis (Anthony Haupt), Allison (Rick) Steffens, Mack and Isabella Patrick; great-grandchildren, Ayla and Addison Davis, Claire and Graham Davis, Laney, Trey and Lance Haupt, Patrick Timmons and Hadley Mae Steffens.

Gene was a former member of the Ohio Consumer Council, Former President of Pickaway County Farmers Union, Past President of Pickaway Township Elementary School PTO, accomplished piano and organ player and also sang in many men's choral groups. Gene was a farmer in Pickaway and Ross counties for many years. After leaving the farm in 1986, he drove a semi for Schneider, MoJack and Bowling Farms. He loved camping and only parted with his camper, still in perfect condition, last summer.

Gene was a member of The Salem Methodist Church of Kingston and Outreach Ministries of Circleville and was very fond of both of his church families.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Dr. Doyne Wiggins, of Outreach Ministries, presenting the eulogy and Pastor Susan Britton, of Salem United Methodist Church, of Kingston, assisting. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. A luncheon will follow at the Salem United Methodist Church, 8490 Hayesville Road, Kingston, Ohio 45644.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Hill's and an hour prior to the service on Thursday.
