Glenn Elmon Congrove
Glenn Elmon Congrove, 91, of Kingston, entered into Heaven on April 23, 2026 at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on April 17, 1935, in Adelphi, the son of the late Arthur Elmon “Brownie” and Mary Esther (Hobbs) Congrove.
Glenn is survived by his children, Jennifer (Jeff) McCalla, of Chillicothe, and Dennis Congrove (Mary Jones), of Kingston; grandchildren, Kyle (Amy) McCalla, of Commercial Point, Bryce McCalla (Kaylee), of Grove City, Shay McCalla, of Chillicothe, Kara (Preston) Gray, of Chillicothe, and Zac Congrove, of Lumberton, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Lana, Sloan, Christopher, and Blair McCalla, and Beckett Gray; brothers, Thomas N. Congrove, of Circleville, and James L. Congrove, of Tazewell, Virginia; brother-in-law, Lowell Thomas Donahue, of Clintonville; special friend, Amber Stuart; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Beverly Ann (Donahue) Congrove; son, Scott Steven Congrove; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Ann Congrove, Judy Congrove, and Barbara Donahue.
Glenn was a 1953 graduate of Laurelville High School and retired from Mead Paper Company after 50 years of service in the quality control department. He was a 73 year resident of the Village of Kingston and a longtime member of the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. He had a strong passion for horse harness racing and loved attending races, as well as, being a race horse owner. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid Cincinnati Red’s fan. Glenn was a member of the Logan Elm Masonic Lodge #624 of Kingston for over 60 years. He was also a beloved patron of Steve’s Village Inn and the family would like to thank their staff for their kindness over the years. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with a Masonic Service starting at 7:00 p.m.
