Gale Martin Kyle, 79, of Hallsville, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 12, 1946, in Laurelville, the son of the late Earl Wesley and Mary Lou (Hoey) Kyle. Gale is survived by his brothers, Elwood L. Kyle and John (Carolyn) Kyle; sister-in-law, Mary Routte; nieces, Andrea Karr and Teresa Bircher; several nephews and nieces; and numerous other special family members, Hallsville community, and first responder family whom he cherished.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gale was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Billy Routte.

Gale proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and Operation Desert Storm and was a member of the Army Reserves for over 20 years. After his first tour, he returned home and graduated from Zane Trace High School Class of 1969. Gale retired from Mead Paper Company after almost 40 years of service and he served on the Mead Chilpaco Mill Emergency First Responder Team. He was a founding and active member of the Colerain Township Fire Department (Unit 1929) and also served as an EMT and firefighter on other local fire departments over the years.
