Frank Leslie Henson

Frank Leslie Henson, of Circleville, left us on July 15, 2023 after battling cancer.  Frank was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 1, 1935.  He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Henson; mother, Mary Houch Ekers; step-father, Okey Ekers; wife, Dolores Cunningham Henson; half-brother, Earl Henson; and step-grandson, Phillip McGill.

Frank is survived by his present wife, Jo Ann Shappard Henson; half-sister, Judy O'Neill; son, Ray (LaBrenda) Henson; daughter, Jane (Doug) Cook;  son, Mark (Elyse) Henson; step-son, Robert (Gail) Cunningham; step-daughter, Colleen (Rick) Redfern; grandchildren, Steven and Karen Cook, Josephine Redfern, Carl Cunningham, Alex Ferrell, Jacob, Caleb, and Isaac Redfern, Belinda McGill, Shawn and Shane Hegarty; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; close neighbor, Joe McDevitt; friend, Tony Richardson; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Frank graduated from Jackson High School in 1953 (at Fox) Circleville, OH.  He worked thirty+ years at Big Bear Distribution Center, in Columbus, where he retired at age 62.  During Frank's sons' youth, he coached boy's baseball for twelve years. He attended Circleville Community United Methodist Church for years. It is here that he met his wife, Jo.  The two enjoyed gardening, lawncare, music, and family gatherings. One of their favorite pastimes was sitting outside as the day came to an end.  Frank was a master carpenter building his home and many family heirloom furniture pieces; each will be cherished for years to come.  He had a passion for rebuilding tractors. He was a man of many talents. Always sharing with family and friends to make our lives easier.  Frank belonged to Heber 501 Masonic Lodge in Williamsport, OH.

Frank, Dad, or Grandpa always left us with this message "I have lived a long and happy life.  Do not be sad for me when I am gone.  Celebrate for me because I could not ask for a better life."  He will forever be an inspiration and loved by each and every one of us.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Ray Henson officiating and a Masonic Service.
