Francis Sherman Strausbaugh
Francis Sherman Strausbaugh, 86, of Kingston, entered into his heavenly home on January 1, 2019 at Heartland Nursing Home, Chillicothe. He was born on November 8, 1932, in Chillicothe, the son of the late Herman Wade and Florence Gertrude (Seymour) Strausbaugh. On May 1, 1957, he was united in marriage with his loving wife, Carolyn (Steinbrook) Strausbaugh, who survives.
Francis is also survived by his daughter, Jodi L. Carter; granddaughter, Ashley Carter (Andy Willard); great-granddaughters, Alexia Lynn and Ava Nicole; sister, Betty Joanne (Larry) Good; nephews, Steven (Jinny) Good and Randy (Maxi) Good; great niece, Holly Walker; sister-in-law, Loretta Strausbaugh; brothers-in-law, Ronald (Janet) Steinbrook and Fred Steinbrook; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, Francis was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Susan Dee; brother-in-law, Larry Good; and an infant sister.
Francis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Kenworth of Chillicothe in December of 1994. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a very hard worker and loved to cut and chop wood. He loved horses and had them most of his life. He was a longtime member of the Mount Logan Riding Club and American Legion. Francis attended Mount Pleasant Church, Kingston.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4 at 12:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. A military graveside service will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Charleston Pike, Chillicothe, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill's. Condolences can be made on Francis' online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com.
