Doug Louis Holbrook, 70, of Laurelville, passed away at his residence on May 25, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Doug was born August 14, 1955, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of the late Harold Holbrook and Louise Ellen (Denight) Moyer.

Along with his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Ann Holbrook, whom he married on August 28, 1977 and shared 38 wonderful years; together they had two daughters.

He is survived by daughters, Stephanie Holbrook (Jeremy Hall), of Kingston, and Katie (Nickie) Stevens, of Laurelville; grandchildren, Meghan Rouse, Carter Langley (Abby Guffey), and Lily Bush; step-dad, David Moyer; siblings, Harold (Melea) Holbrook, Rhea (Gary) Fout, and Rudy (Jess) Moyer; special friends, Debbie Hudnell, Kenny Cox, and Brent Wagner; along with many other family members and friends whom he cherished.

Doug was a graduate from Zane Trace High School Class of 1975. He then joined the military where he became Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was a dedicated, hard worker and retired from Mead Paper Mill in 2018 after 33 1/2 years. He was an avid sports fan for Zane Trace, Ohio State, Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and the Cincinnati Reds. He rarely missed a game. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, gardening, or woodworking (mushrooms and spoons). Doug was a member of the Logan Elm Lodge #624 of Kingston.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating.
