Dorothy Ruth (Karshner) Imler
Dorothy Ruth (Karshner) Imler, 92, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 6, 1933, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Merle and Edith (Seymour) Karshner. On June 29, 1950, she united in marriage with her loving husband, Harley Arthur Imler, who preceded her in death in 1984.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved sons, Michael Allen (Debria) Imler, of Chillicothe, and Mark Anthony Imler (Lawana Kempton), of Vinton County; grandchildren, Kevin (Kelly) Imler and Michelle Imler; great-grandchildren, Alisha Imler, Greg Imler, Jason Imler, and Kasey Imler; siblings, David Karshner, Roger (Carol) Karshner, and Judy Karshner; and numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her infant son, Greg Imler; and siblings, Nelson Karshner, Linda Pinnix, Jerry Karshner, and Joyce Taylor.
Dorothy worked as a glass handler at RCA for many years and also worked as a teacher’s aid at Unioto Local Schools. She loved her family beyond measure and was a natural caregiver. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Michael Rhoades officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery, Hallsville. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill’s.
