Dorianne Caldwell

Dorianne Caldwell, 65, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at 2:17 a.m., surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health. Born on July 30, 1960, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ernest Caldwell and Marilyne Louise (Neff) Caldwell, who survives her. Preceding Dorianne in death were maternal grandparents Delta Lewis and Dora Iva (Karshner) Neff; paternal grandparents Ernest Clark and Anna Golda (Lewis) Caldwell; and other dear family members.

Dorianne is also survived by her beloved siblings, Kelly Caldwell of Kentucky and Amy (Terry) Bridenbaugh of Chillicothe; aunt, Charlene Hertzer of Pickerington; uncle, Robert Neff of Chillicothe; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in her heart.

A Life Filled with Joy and Connection

A 1981 graduate of the Pioneer Center School, Dorianne brought warmth and love to everyone around her. She was an enthusiastic participant in the Special Olympics and 4H, and worked at First Capital Enterprises, Bob Evans, and Pizza Hut—jobs she held with real pride. Those who knew Dorianne knew her most distinctive quality: her boundless affection. She was a natural hugger who delighted in connecting with others, and she had a particular gift for seeking out babies, whose presence never failed to brighten her day.

Dorianne found simple pleasures deeply satisfying. She enjoyed the focused task of grocery shopping, checking off every item on her list with satisfaction. Regular outings to the city park to watch the swans brought her joy. She treasured picnics and family reunions for both the good food and happy memories. Each August, the Ross County Fair was a highlight she anticipated all year long.

Her pastimes reflected her gentle spirit: playing the tambourine, coloring with markers, and watching her favorite shows—Lawrence Welk, Little House on the Prairie, The Brady Bunch, The Waltons, Happy Days, and Family Affair. But Saturday afternoons were reserved for PBS cooking shows, which she watched with devoted attention. Anything pink would instantly bring a smile to her face, a smile nearly as big as the one that appeared whenever someone mentioned Bob Evans.

Faith and a Dream Fulfilled

On May 24, 1986, Dorianne was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a faith that became central to her life. She cherished opportunities to share in the Christian ministry and took genuine delight in discussing Bible promises—particularly the hope of a future without pain, sickness, sorrow, or death (Revelation 21:4) and Jesus' promise of a resurrection (John 5:28, 29). In 2024, despite declining health, Dorianne realized a cherished lifelong dream when she visited the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses—a trip that affirmed her deep faith and brought her tremendous joy.

Memorial Service

A memorial service will be held on August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 137 University Drive, Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601. It is located behind the Ross County Banking Center. A private burial for the family will be held at another convenient time.
