Donald Richard Norman
Donald Richard Norman, 91, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026 at Adena Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on May 31, 1935, in Hallsville, the son of the late Charles and Marie (Brokaw) Norman.
Donald is survived by his wife and beloved partner of 30 years, Marjo (Evans) Congrove Norman; brother, Lee (Janice) Norman; sister-in-law, Bonnie Norman; brother-in-law, David Sams; Step-daughters, Pamela (Jeffrey) Roush, Rayann Congrove, Betsy (Michael) Strong and Heather (Thad) Spencer; grandchildren, Katelyn (Caleb) Maust, Clinton (Lexie) Roush, Ella Strong, Megan Spencer (fiancé, Austin Chaffin), and Josie Spencer; 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings, Guy Norman, David (Nancy) Norman, and Carolyn Sams.
Donald was a 1953 graduate of Centralia High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Donald retired from Mead Paper Company following 42 years of service. He was a member of the Logan Elm Masonic Lodge #624 and OES Chapter 411 of Kingston, Ross County Shrine Club, Chillicothe Elks Lodge, American Legion, VFW, and AMVETS. Donald enjoyed collecting antique tractors and was a member of an Oliver Antique Tractor Club. Donald was one of the last founding members of the Colerain Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was also the unofficial President and lifelong member of the Hallsville Liar’s Club.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Jon Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery, Hallsville, with military honors provided by the Ross County Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Donald's honor to the charity of your choice.
