He was born on October 21, 1944, in Beaver, OH, the son of the late Burl and Fannie Marie (Newman) Blanton. On March 13, 1962, he united in marriage with his beloved wife, Sharlene (Conn) Blanton, who survives.
Donald is also survived by his son, Donald R. (Mandy) Blanton Jr., of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Kim Blanton; grandchildren, Chris (Kayla) Blanton, Donald R. Blanton III, and Danielle Blanton; great-grandchild, Cannon Blanton; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends whom he cherished.

Donald retired from Overnight UPS Trucking after 30 years of service. Donald was well known for being industrious and self-reliant. He could tackle any project and find the best solution. He had extensive home building and carpentry skills, which many people around him relied on for his expertise and knowledge. Donald was very proud that he built his family’s home and remodeled many others in the community. He loved to go fishing, boating, and camping with his family. Donald and Sharlene also enjoyed attending church and spending many winters in Tavares Florida over the years.
