Obituary

In Loving Memory of Dee Anne Penn

Dee Anne Penn, 65, of Kingston, Ohio, passed at her home on Saturday, July 11, 2026 following a year-long illness. She was born on September 5, 1960 to the late Robert Leon Penn and Donna Mae (née Wheeling) Penn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Gregory Penn in 2022.

She was married to Dean Inboden for 31 years, who survives. Also surviving are her stepson, Jesse Inboden; and nieces, Jessany Penn and Robyn Roush (Brian Roush).

Dee graduated from Piketon High School in 1978 and Rio Grande College (University) in 1982, where she received a degree in Elementary Education. Later, she completed training for Music Education. As a student, she participated in her high school musicals and, later, served as director of those musicals where she taught.

She taught music at Scioto Valley Local School District (Piketon) for over thirty years before retiring. An exceptionally gifted singer, she continued performing professionally with her husband, guitarist Dean, until shortly before her death. She performed in many venus, including weddings, funerals, and restaurants. She was featured as a performer for notable people and events, including the governor of Ohio and in Nashville.

In her free time, she enjoyed working with her hands, especially needlework and basketry. She frequently made these items as Christmas gifts for her loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the HILL FUNERAL HOME in Kingston, Ohio. Public viewing will be available one hour before the service at 1:00 p.m. at Hills. Afterward, burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Kingston. Condolences and floral gifts may be made on Dee's online guestbook at www.hillfhkingston.com.

She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
