David Chester "Red" Phillips
David Chester "Red" Phillips, 73, of Laurelville, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025 at Chillicothe Post Acute following an extended illness. He was born on September 6, 1951, the son of the late Chester and Billy (Sexton) Phillips. On April 17, 1998, he united in marriage with his beloved wife, Cheri (Leach) Phillips, who survives.
David is also survived by his children, Dava Lorraine, Pam Phillips, Billy Phillips, David Phillips, and Josh (Elizabeth) Massie; numerous special grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Donald) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Tammy (Lawrence) Elkins, Renee (Curtis) Ream, and Cindy (Tim) Seymour; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Sean Phillips; siblings, Danny Phillips, Tommy Cox, Janet Ross, and Ella Thompson.
David was an avid outdoorsman and worked in the timber cutting industry. He enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law, Curtis, deer hunting, and mushroom hunting. Red also loved music and played the drums. He enjoyed visiting with his special nephew, Scooter.
