Dan Raymond Paxton
Surrounded by family and doggies, Dan Raymond Paxton, 61, of Kingston, left his earthly life to be with the creator on April 17, 2026 in Kingston, Ohio. He was born on July 21, 1964, in Chillicothe, the son of the late Douglas M. Paxton and Phyllis J. (Van Meter) Paxton, who survives.
In addition to his mother, Dan is survived by his sister, Teresa “Teri”; and niece, Megan (JC Gleason).
In addition to his father, Dan was preceded in death by his name sake, his grandfather, Raymond Paxton; daughter, Samantha Paxton; and niece, Caitlin White.
Dan was blessed with many talents in his life including welding, iron working, and multiple trades in the construction business. He also enjoyed making dream catchers, doing bead work and leather workings occupied his free time. He has a deep appreciation for the outdoors, wildlife and his faith.
With his travels across the country, he made so many friends who became family: his adopted native American mother, Nakia Breen; Jill and Megan from the Creative Outlet Indian Store, where he sold his artwork; Randy, Hank and Jeff, who he search for flea market treasures with; Rebecca and John for being such special and caring people.
Dan, or by his native name, Raymond Dreaming Hawk, fulfilled his lifelong dream to live in Pawnee, Oklahoma on the Kiowa Indian Reservation. The history and passion of the native people have inspired him for many years. He also worked in the oil fields and sold art work while living there.
Dan will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. In lieu of flowers, he has requested donations to Ross County Humane Society or Shauna’s Rescue. Services have been entrusted to the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. Private Graveside Services and burial have taken place.
