Dakota "Coty" Allen Mead

Dakota "Coty" Allen Mead, 24, of Waverly, passed away on October 9, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, following a brief illness. He was born on June 10, 1993, the son of Keith Allen Mead, of Waverly, who survives, and the late Rita Lee (Marcum) Mead. He was a 2011 graduate of Waverly High School and Pike County Vocational School.

Dakota is also survived by his sisters, Amanda Mead (Bobby Gorman), and Jeana "Nikki" Mead (Jerod McCoy); nieces and nephews, Heaven, Laila, and Landen Mead, Dylan Leeth, and Mia McCoy, all of Chillicothe; grandmother, Sylvia Mead, of Waverly; best friend, Terry Carter; and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Coty was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Larry David Mead; grandparents, Walter and Florence "Midge" Marcum Jr.; and uncles, Walter "Chip" Marcum III and Terry Mead.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from noon until the time of the service at Hill's.
