Obituary

Clayton Mathue Thomas Rucker

Clayton Mathue Thomas Rucker, 26, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 at his home following an extended illness. Clayton came screaming into the world on August 28th, 1989 just minutes before his twin sister Caitlyn. Clayton was the son of Sandi Payne and Howard (Howie) Payne.

Clayton is survived by his mother, Sandi Payne, of Chillicothe; sisters, Micah (David) Neeley and Caitlyn Rucker, both of Chillicothe; fiancée,  Brittany Ruggles; four children, Lyric, Liberty (Libby), and Liam Rucker, and Landen King; niece, Chloe Simmons; grandparents, Cheryl and Jerry Rucker; a very special man, Michael (Billie) Rucker.

Our family is extremely large and close, therefore his aunts and uncles are just as important, therefore, he is survived as well by uncle, Donald (Tammy) Elkins Jr., Aunt, Paula (Ray) Lawrence, Uncle Todd (Marie) Elkins, Uncle Matt (Nikki) Elkins,  Aunt Linda (Eddie) Burns, Aunt Ivy (Tim) Lewis, Aunt Crystal (Richard) Baer, and Uncle Lawrence Rucker, along with dozens of cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Howard Payne; grandfather, Donald Elkins Sr., and grandmother, Karen Elkins.

Clayton loved the outdoors and all the activities it offered. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or riding quads, he was out there. If he could wear camo while doing it then he was. Clayton was very close with his Uncle Todd, as he was his best friend.  He was his partner in crime and like a second father to him, therefore, the love of outdoor activities was something that they did together.  Not only was he an avid outdoors man, but he was a phenomenal father and partner. He loved his kids more than anything. If you asked anyone what they would honestly have to say about Clay, it would be that no matter what, he loved his family and his friends.

Clay was notorious for helping any friend that needed it. Whether it was just to talk to or a place to stay he always offered his help to his friends if he could. Clay collected stray people, like some one would collect stray animals. If he could help, he would. The most important thing about Clayton however, is that he was and still is loved unconditionally by all of his family and friends. He loved his sisters very much and his momma. He will always be his momma's boy.

As your time on Earth is done, watch over us and keep all of us that love you safe! Fly high my baby boy, momma loves you!
