Christina Marie (Layton) Downs

Christina Marie (Layton) Downs, 46, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born on September 1, 1978, in Columbus, the daughter of James David and Teresa Dean (Armentrout) Layton Sr., who survive. On September 25, 2004, she was united in marriage with her beloved husband, Glenn William Downs, who survives.

Christina is also survived by her children, Kylie (Dennis) Powell and Wyatt Downs; siblings, James (Valerie) Layton Jr., Tina Grimm, and Terry (Brandie) Layton; several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.

Christina attended Westfall High School and was currently the store manager of Railway Express of Chillicothe. She treasured her family and was truly the glue holding them together. Christina was the most loving, kind, and selfless mother around. She enjoyed being in the mountains on family vacations and loved being in the water on a kayak or boat. She will be deeply missed.
