Charles Eugene Zickafoose

Charles Eugene Zickafoose, 81, of Kingston, passed away in his home on September 23, 2024 after battling kidney and heart failure. He was born on March 3, 1943, in Circleville, the son of Charles F. Zickafoose and Mary (Miller) Haddox. On January 19, 1963, he married the love of his life, Shirley (White) Zickafoose, who survives. They were happily married for 60 years.

Charles is also survived by his daughters, Sandy Zickafoose Pritchard and Angie Zickafoose Rucker; son-in-law, Craig Timmons; sisters, Alice Saliba, Ellen Swisher, and Sharon Haddox; brother, Randy Haddox; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary Haddox, who is 98 years old; and a very special granddaughter, Katelynn Barrows, who helped care for him his final days.

Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Sue (Zickafoose) Timmons, who passed on September 2, 2024 after battling cancer; two granddaughters, Aerial Timmons and Charlee Rucker; sisters, Shirley Garrett, Carolyn Joyner, and Peggy Haddox; brother, Daniel Zickafoose; father, Charles F. Zickafoose; and a very special stepfather of over 50 years, Rev. William Haddox; and his life long friend, Lester Marburger.

Charles was a graduate of Circleville High School in 1961. He worked at DuPont for many years before retiring. He was a farmer and his passion was being on the tractor in an open field where he prayed many prayers. He loved all his farm animals, but, most of all, he loved his family. He was the best husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa and to know him is to love him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 12:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Barry Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery, Yellowbud.
