Charles Thurston
Charles Thurston, 90, of Adelphi, entered Heaven on March 24, 2014 at his home. He was born Dec. 28, 1923 the son of the late Robert and Lelia (Gum) Thurston. On Nov. 30, 1946, he married Bette Leasure who survives. Also surviving are children, Barbara Turner, Vickie (Terry) Johnson, Belinda (John) Norton, Donna (Gary) Pinkstock, and Charles Thurston; brothers, Ronald Thurston; sisters, Martha Hannah, Neola Fogler, Bonnie (Donald) Hanlin and Lyndol (Robert) Brown; grandchildren, Ed, Melissa, Brian, Katrina, John "Clyde", Mendy, Bette, Nick and Whitney; great grandchildren, Nolan, Natasha, Amber, Cassie, Dawn, Libby, Noah, Willow, Brooklyn, Bailey, Bentleigh, Bexleigh, Mason, Darren and Dillon and great great grandchildren, Corbyn, Timothy, Aubree and Kaden.
He was also predeceased by 5 siblings; son-in-laws, David & Gary; and a grandson, Terry Johnson. Charles was a WWII Navy Veteran, lifetime member of the D.A.V., and member of the Operator's Union Local 18.
Funeral services will be on Saturday 11 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Pastor James Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery with the Ross County Honor Guard. Friends may call at Hill's Friday from 2 to 8 p.m.
