Carolyn Faye (Norman) Sams

Carolyn Faye (Norman) Sams, 76, of Chillicothe, passed away on December 13, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. She was born on October 26, 1948, in Hallsville, the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Brokaw) Norman. On October 14, 1967, she was united in marriage to David L. Sams, who survives.

Carolyn was a loving mother and also a foster parent for over 15 years. She adopted seven children of the numerous she cared for. Carolyn was a 1967 graduate of Zane Trace High School.

Carolyn is also survived by her beloved children, David (Denise) Sams, Spencer Sams, Sarah Livesay, Sean (Sarina) Sams, Erin (Wayne) Dixon, Jordan Sams, Sawyer Sams, Drew Sams, and Elijah Sams (Beckett Hill); grandchildren, Evan Sams, Elysia Sams and fiance, Tyler Colburn, Marina Ritchie, Hannah Riley, Griffin Sams, and Scarlett Sams; great-grandchildren, Eleanor Ritchie and Henley Riley; brothers, Don Norman and Lee Norman; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Guy Lloyd Norman and David Norman; and son, Alexander Sams.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff of Adena Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston, with Rev. Jammie Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery, Hallsville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Hill's.
