Carl Eugene Gearhart Sr.
Carl Eugene Gearhart Sr., 94, of Kingston, entered into Heaven on April 3, 2026 at his family farm surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 6, 1931, in Kingston, the son of the late Charles Virgil and Hannah Marie (Evans) Gearhart. On July 31, 1995, he united in marriage with his wife of 31 years, Patricia A. (Wolford) Gearhart, who survives.
Carl is also survived by his children, Carl E. Gearhart Jr., Lois (Ted) Avery, Chuck (Janet) Gearhart, Rick Gearhart, and Peter (Marilyn) Gearhart; step-children, Michael (Vicki) Jacobs and Janice (Hersey) Quinn; step-son-in-law, Gary Long; step-daughter-in-law, Karen Jacobs; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his six children, Juanita (Roush) Gearhart on April 27, 1991; son, Rob Gearhart; step-children, Tamara Barker, Carolyn Long, and Jeffrey Jacobs; daughters-in-law, Rita Jane Gearhart and Angela Gearhart; and sisters, Agnes Streitenberger and Norma Hotopp;
Carl was a 1950 graduate of Centralia High School. He was a lifelong farmer and was also a school bus driver for Zane Trace Local Schools for around 18 years. Carl was a devoted son, father, husband, and grandfather. He was also a devoted Christian and Sunday School teacher. He was a faithful member of Bethel Church until its closure and, more recently, Kingston Field of Grace Church. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Jammie Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Chillicothe. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Hill’s. Condolences and floral gifts can be made on Carl’s online guestbook at www.hillfhkingston.com.
