IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brian Eugene
Moss
August 7, 1953 – March 8, 2025
Brian Eugene Moss
Brian Eugene Moss was born August 7, 1953, left this world after his extremely long courageous battle with cancer, March 8, 2025. He is preceded in his death by his parents, Sally and Harold (Bucker) Moss, his daughter-in-law, Cari Galloro and his (grand)daughter, Carlie Moss.
Brian is survived by his children, Shawn (Nicole) Moss, Becky Moss, Joni (Chad) Moss, Jamie (Amy) Moss and Cassie Moss; by the people who cared for him daily, sister, Teresa (Charlie) Fout; brother, Greg "Scoob" (Brenda) Moss; and very special friend, Karen Mace. He is also survived by his other siblings, Mark Moss, Annette (Mike) Copeland and Tim Moss. Brian loved being a Papaw. His grandkids, Layne White, Pierce Moss, Austin White, Payton Brown, Kayli (Maxx) Greene, Krenzel Hughes, Cameron Rife, Paisley Moss, Kale Slaughter, Donna Slaughter, and Caroline Spetnagel all adored him. He also had the pleasure of being a great-Papaw to Alaina, Amos, Abrinah and little Arla coming in July. Brian also had many nieces and nephews that he absolutely adored.
Brian was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and Air National Guard. He earned his pilot's licensee to fly planes and quite enjoyed it. After serving his country, he worked for DuPont where he made many friends. Subsequent to leaving DuPont, he started climbing poles for a cable company where he quite literally climbed his way up the corporate ladder to being regional project manager for multiple cable companies where he met even more close friends.
Brian had the opportunity to travel quite a bit in his life, mostly due to his work, however his favorite place to visit was Gatlinburg. He absolutely loved the ambiance of nature, and enjoyed many trips there, once as recently as last summer.
Brian always had a passion for music playing steel guitar, acoustic, electric and singing. He has played in bands since he was just a teenager. He even had the opportunity to contribute to a fund-raising album, "Take the Designated Driver Challenge" singing a song for Mothers against Drunk Driving. He played in many venues from fairs, bars, churches, nursing homes and at family gatherings. Everyone always loved hearing him sing.
When Brian was diagnosed with cancer, he decided it was time to retire and focus on raising Carlie and his health. The entire time he raised her he fought so incredibly hard against his cancer defying the odds of his original diagnosis of having a 15% chance of living 3-5 years making it well beyond a decade.
He spent much of his time enjoying the comfort of his doggos Tucker and Izzy. They were definitely his emotional support dogs.
