Benjamin Franklin Valentine Jr.

Benjamin Franklin Valentine Jr., 94, of Hallsville, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2018 at the Chillicothe VAMC. He was born on January 14, 1924, in Kingston, the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Caroline (Brown) Valentine Sr.

Benjamin is survived by his sister, Norma Viney, of Kingston; granddaughters, Amanda Valentine, Randi Valentine, and Krista (Jerrad) Smith; nine great-grandchildren including, Keith, Jerrad, Troy, and Brock Smith; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leora Valentine; daughter, Valerie Valentine; step-daughter, Kay Cohen; siblings, James and Phillip Valentine, Emma Nelson, and Nancy Valentine.

Benjamin proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was stationed on the USS Ira Jeffries in the North Atlantic and the USS Currituck in the Philippines during his service. Ben had the privilege of attending the Honor Flight and visiting Washington D.C. in 2015.
