IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Elizabeth
(Juenger) Graves
November 14, 1919 – November 7, 2016
Barbara Elizabeth (Juenger) Graves
Barbara Elizabeth (Juenger) Graves, 96, of Chillicothe, passed from her earthly life and entered the eternal life realm of her Heavenly Father on November 7, 2016 at 3:20 a.m. at Pickaway Manor after enduring a brief illness. Barbara was born on November 14, 1919, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Edward F. and Anna Elizabeth (Greisheimer) Juenger.
She is survived by her sons, Donald E. and Gregory E. Graves at home; her grandson and his wife, Wesley Tyler and Tiffany Hartman, of Portsmouth; her great-grandson, Wesley Davis Hartman, the pride and joy in her life; her sister, Frances Greenlee, of Circleville; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Wesley Graves Jr.; her daughter, Sharon Lynn (Graves) Hartman; and her siblings, Edna Brust, Virginia Woods, Edward D. Juenger, and Robert P. Juenger.
Barbara attended Chillicothe High School. After high school, she went to work with the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Chillicothe. In January 1943, she married Wesley Graves Jr. She became actively involved with the many activities of life on a farm. Shortly after, she also started her family. In 1965, she went to work with the new Sears store in the Chillicothe Mall, working as the Head Seamstress for many years until that department was closed. She continued working at Sears in the Men's Department until she retired in 2007 to care for her daughter who had cancer. She enjoyed mowing the yard on her White lawn tractor and her "green thumb" allowed her to grow many beautiful flowers and plants.
The family would like to thank the many caring people at the Berger Hospital System, the many nurses and caregivers of the Berger Hospice Program, and the caretakers at Pickaway Manor. Everyone has been very thoughtful and caring.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at Hill's on Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. Condolences can be made on Barbara's online guest registry at www.hillfhkingston.com .
