Barbara Jane Nichols

Barbara Jane Nichols, 78, of Kingston, died on June 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on Feb. 20, 1937, in Hillsboro, and spent most of her childhood in Ross County on Dry Run Road with her late parents Polly and Truman Fetters.  She was also predeceased by a brother, Roger, who died at childbirth.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charlie Denver Nichols.  They were married in June 4, 1955 at the Bethel Church on Dry Run Road.  Also surviving are two brothers, Bob and Bill Fetters; three sisters, Beverly Johnson, Bunny Rittinger and Belinda Stotridge; five children, Debra Destro, Teresa Wills, Roger Nichols, Cindy Hohenstein and Kim Thomas; grandchildren, T. G. and Jeff Wolfe, Angela Karr, Michael and Scott Wills, Erica Teets, Randi Gallaugher and Alicia Nichols, Cory and Collin Hohenstein and Jamie Dupler; great grandchildren, Geordie and Aleah Wolfe, Adriahna, Owen and Liam Karr, Alexia Teets, Christopher, Alyssa and Paisley Wills, Kilea and Mariah Dupler; and great great grandson, Nicholas.

Mrs. Nichols was very active. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1955. She toured the United States many times and has seen all the National Parks.  Barbara was a member of the Ross & Pickaway County Senior Citizens.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston. Mrs. Nichols' family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
