Lloyd Clayton McNichols

Lloyd Clayton McNichols, 83, of Londonderry, entered into Heaven on December 26, 2017 unexpectedly at his residence. He was born on August 9, 1934, in South Bloomingville, the son of the late William and Letha (Tatman) McNichols. On May 9, 1959, he was united in marriage with his loving wife, Jeannie (Kneece) McNichols, who survives.

Lloyd is also survived by his daughters, Cindy Sowers, of Chillicothe, Christi (Kent) Wood, of Richmond Dale, and Kim (Jeff) Warrens, of Hartford, MI; brother, Melvin McNichols; sisters, Thelma Brokaw and Ruby Pickett; grandchildren, Brian Ely, Wesley, Justin, and Stefan Wood, and Jake and Emily Warrens; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his brothers, Owen, Gilford, Kenneth, and Nolan McNichols and sisters, Ruth Rowland, Opal Wheeler, and Violet Williams.

Lloyd proudly served his country in the US Army as a tank gunner and sharp shooter. He was a great outdoorsman as he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cutting wood. He was also a devoted fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Jim McFadden and Rev. Mark Rosser officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at Hill’s. Always loved Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Jeannie. They were there for us when our Dad passed and they offered such comfort and peace with prayers. To the family you have my deepest sympathy. Prayers.

Uncle Lloyd and aunt Jennie came to see my mom—Opal when she was bad—-it brightened her day and gave us kids a lot of comfort. We will all miss him dearly-he was very kind and loving.

We lost one of our dearest and most loved friends. Lloyd was such a kind and generous man that loved God and his family with his whole heart. There are no words to express the void that we feel; but, there's a reunion day just ahead. Our prayers go out to the family and especially to Jeannie, we send our love.
