Gerald “Jerry” Allen Maynard, 83, of Chillicothe, went to be with his Lord on July 27, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 13, 1934, in Youngstown, the son of the late Carroll E. and Zelma (Weiler) Maynard. On June 20, 1953, he married his loving wife of 60 years, Wanda Lee (Caudill) Maynard, who preceded him in death in 2013. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1952.

Jerry is survived by his son, James A. Maynard; daughters, Kathy (Bill) McCoy, Bonnie (Paul) Cruse, and Tina (David) Sayre; sister, Marian (Don) Rinkliff; and many adored grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Maynard.

Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was a retired sheet metal worker and long time Chillicothe resident. He loved working with his hands and being outside close to nature. He attended Hilltop Mission and supported his Church with his time and talents. Mr. Maynard was without a doubt one of the finest persons I have ever had to the privilege to know. I cannot remember a time in the few short years I knew him at Hilltop Mission Church, that he didnt have that wonderful smile on his face and his hand extended for a greeting; such a pleasure to have known him and I can take great comfort as a Christian in knowing exactly where he is now.
