Bette Rose (Waters) Davis, 94, of Kingston, entered into Heaven on November 22, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 28, 1925, in Glen Alpine, North Carolina, the daughter of the late John C. and Cordelia (Smith) Waters. On January 6, 1946, she married her beloved late husband, Dwight E. Davis, of Kingston. It was a beautiful marriage partnership that lasted 70 years.

Bette is survived by her beloved children, Jim (Sally) Davis, of Columbus, and Kristina Gerber, of Grove City; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Davis, of Orient, Matthew Gerber, of Grove City, and Melissa (Michael) Orzel, of Imperial Beach, California; great-grandchildren, Norah Davis and Mora Rose Orzel; and numerous other family members and friends whom she cherished.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Fish, Doris Brehmer, Helen Allison, Jewel Evans, John C. Waters, and Howard Waters.

Bette was self employed as the owner of the Bette Davis Jewelry Collection and worked in that business until her retirement. She was a devoted member of the Circleville First Church CCU and was active in the Building Disciples S.S. Class, where she served as a substitute teacher. She was an active member of the Just Older Youth Sr. Citizens Ministry.

She has served as the leader and guide of a non-denominational Bible study for over 10 years and served as chair of the Steering Committee to establish the Greater Scioto Valley Emmaus Community. She had served in many others areas of Christian leadership. In her younger years, she served in many areas of community leadership, including her key role to obtain the land that was to become the Kingston Village Park. Bette was also known for her gift of hospitality. She and Dwight loved welcoming all of their friends and loved ones into their home.
