Neal L. Coder

    Neal L. Coder, 72, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on July 27, 1951, in Huntington, West Virginia, the son of the late Howard and Juanita (Short) Coder.

   Neal is survived by his beloved siblings, Roy (Cathy) Coder, of Jeffersonville, Ruth Tarter, of Athens, Howard L. (Pam) Coder, of Chillicothe, and Verna (Gary) Scurlock, of Frankfort; special nieces and nephews, Roy Coder Jr., Aaron Coder, Larry (Amy) Stewart, Brian Stewart, Kelly (Carl) Shaw, Howard Coder Jr., Stacey (Ryan) Reho, Davey Holdren, Kim Holdren, Cindy Holdren, and Jo Jo Sousa; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.

    In addition to his parents, Neal was predeceased by his sister, Shirley (Dave) Holdren; sister-in-law, Patricia Coder; nephews, Scotty Coder and Anthony Stuart; and niece, Carol Holdren.   

    Neal was a 1969 graduate of Zane Trace High School and he worked at Wear Ever factory of Chillicothe. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Neal also enjoyed sports and was an avid Browns fan. 

    Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Gary Scurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Ross County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
